There's nothing worse than opening up your diaper pail to find black spots on your beloved diapers or clothing!
In
order to get the mold out, you have a couple of options. You can make a
paste with the Rockin' Green and apply it manually to the areas that
are molded. Allow them to sit for about 10 minutes or so, and then do
several hot wash/cold rinse cycles with no detergent in order to get
everything out. You can add about 20 drops of Tea Tree oil to one of
these wash cycles in order to sanitize the diapes, and then hang them on
the line to dry.
As always bleach does remove mold, it is not
recommended as it can damage your diapers, but it is an effective mold
killing tool.
It's important to remember that since mold is
attracted to damp dark places, even a drypail can be a perfect breeding
ground for mold to grow. Storing the diaper pail in a drier part of the
house with the lid off might help keep mold from forming as well as
washing more frequently.
